Calcaneodynia: Pain at the heel occurring with the first step taken in the morning, or when arising from a resting position.

Self-Treatment of Heel Pain.

  • Initial consideration of shoe wear pattern, shoe selection (shoe should be stiff to twisting and bending), rest/restrict activity level.
  • Over the counter anti-inflammatory medication if tolerated.
  • ice for 3-6 minutes before and after activities.
  • Drug store heel cup.
